You will no doubt be aware from the media and your own experience, Primary Care is experiencing tremendous pressure. Demand for GP services currently far outweighs the capacity and due to this GP practices are being challenged to discover new ways to address these issues. One solution we feel is to change to our current appointment system.
We are currently receiving unprecedented amount of calls and are acutely aware that patients are requesting face to face appointments. Therefore, the Surgery will be introducing a new appointment system from 26th July 2021 which we hope will address some of the issues patients have raised.
The current system we are offering will be reduced considerably, to make way for the reinstated face to face appointments. Please note that we only have a certain capacity for urgent on the day appointments to be dealt with safely and if patients contact us after these have been filled then we will not be able to deal with your problem that day and you will be asked to contact us the next morning.
The receptionists will ask the reason for your call so they can direct you to the correct clinician at the correct time using Care Navigation, this includes, Opticians, Dentist, Direct Access Physio and The Common Ailments Scheme, with a local Pharmacist, which covers 28 ailments, this allows patients to be treated free of charge.
We would be grateful therefore, if you could please be patient during this transition period and do not abuse our staff.
Thank you for your continued support.
